Global Warming
Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide and other air pollutants collects in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced of the earth surface. The heat trapping pollutants especially carbon dioxide, methane ,water vapour and synthetic fluorinated gases also known as the green house gases and their impact is called the greenhouse effect. Though natural cycles and fluctuations have caused the climate to change several times over the last years. Our current era of global Warming is directly contributed to human activity specially to burning of fossil fuel such as coal oil gasoline and natural gas which results to greenhouse effect. Curbing dangerous climate change requires very deep cut in emissions as well as use of alternative to fossils fuel worldwide. To avoid the worst impact of climate change scientists tell us that we need to reduce global carbon emissions by as much as 40% by 2030 and for that to happen the global community must take concrete immediate steps to decarbonise electricity generation by equitably transitioning from fossil fuel based production to renewable energy sources like wind and solar to electrify our cars and trucks and to maximise energy efficiency in our building appliances and industry. Scientists agree that the earth rising temperature are fueling longer and hotter waves more frequent drought heavier rainfall and more powerful hurricanes. Scientists also claim the odds of similar drought happening in the future and now has roughly doubled over the past century and in 2016 the National Academics of Science and Engineering announced that we can attribute some extreme weather events like heat waves drought and heavy precipitation directly to climate change .The impact of Global warming are being felt everywhere. Extreme wave heats have caused tens of thousands of death around the world in recent years as the heat waves drought and floods associated with climate become more frequent and intense communities suffer and death toll rise and if we're unable to reduce our emmision and scientists believe that climate change could lead to death of more than 250, 000 people around the globe every year and force 100 million people into poverty by 2030. Climate change poses a fundamental threat to places species and people livelihood. To adequately address the crisis we must urgently reduce carbon pollution and prepare for the consequences consequences of global Warming which were already existing and this can be done by advancing polices to fight climate change engaging with business to reduce carbon emmision and help people adopt to climate change
